‘Fire Earrings’ by Andrew Logan 1995 This pair of vintage Andrew Logan clip-on earrings, each have fifteen small red repurposed jewels and cut glass squares set within the resin which is covered in gold leaf. The colour of the glass combined with the gold leaf and the shape of the earrings gives the appearance of a flame. ‘PEACE HERALD’ – by Andrew Logan 2019 Peace Herald is a statement necklace that can also be worn as both a necklace and brooch, or adorn you home as and artwork. The body of this piece is covered with cream, brown & burgundy shell discs, white curve glass fragments, small shells, fresh water pearls and mirror discs and fragments. The mane is created from white shell and the tail is made of pale multicolour shell fragments. The wing of ‘Peace Herald’ is composed of a white glass convex disc combined with an appliqué with pearlescent beads and transparent tube beads. All of this is set within a body of white resin and finished with a mix of light multicolour glitter. The wing of this was created from a previous piece called ‘Octopus October’ (2012). This piece is completed with a pearlescent beaded necklace. ‘VEILED SEA’, 2019- by Andrew Logan This blue heart has a white and black quartz at is centre , two mirror discs flank it on either side. A large pale blue gem sits bellow the quarts and a clear glass cast detail sits on top. All of these elements are surrounded by blue round beads laid into a blue resin, and completed with turquoise glitter. Thank you @RussellTovey @RobertDiament at Talk Art Regram from @talkart As mentioned in this week’s @talkart, we view this #mirror work by British artist #AndrewLogan @andrewlogangallery that Sir #IanMcKellen bought at a charity auction for @stonewalluk! (…and we think looks A LOT like our previous #talkART guest #PedroPascal @pascalispunk). Logan is a legendary sculptor, performance artist, jewellery-maker, and portraitist. He founded the #AlternativeMissWorld in 1972, which he continued to run, and which #TalkArt’s @robertdiament attended in the early 2000s! Logan had a major retrospective of his work in 1991 at Modern Art Oxford @mao_gallery. Whilst the purpose-built #AndrewLoganMuseumofSculpture, at Berriew in the Welsh Marches, now houses much of his sculpture and painting.
